Frequently Asked Questions
How Does PŪR memory material™ work?
No other material compares to PŪR memory material™ in the way it conforms to your body and reduces pressure points. PŪR memory material™ cells minimize when under pressure, then gradually regain their shape when pressure is released. This is different from standard foams that compress, but react by resisting against pressure. PŪR memory material™ cells are open and compress completely, spreading air pressure to neighboring cells. This is precisely how PŪR memory material™ actually reduces pressure points and conforms to your body's shape.
Is PŪR memory material™ temperature sensitive?
Yes, PŪR memory material™ is temperature sensitive, so environmental temperatures may affect the feel of your memory foam mattress. In response, our advanced open-cell technology provides for exceptional airflow. This technology responds to body temperature and sleep position to provide a consistent refreshing sleep.
Do I need to flip my mattress?
Never flip your memory foam mattress. We recommend rotating your memory foam mattress from head to foot a few times to assure proper breaking in and even weight distribution.
Does a Sedona Comfort™ memory foam mattress require any special care?
The mattress is very easy to maintain. The cover must be dry cleaned only—never machine wash or dry the cover. Do not remove the layer of material between the cover and foam. This is a barrier that ensures your memory foam mattress is compliant with 16 CFR Part 1633 (the federal flammability/open flame standard for mattress sets). If the foam or fire-retardant barrier becomes soiled or dirty, spot wash with a damp cloth using mild detergent and warm water and allow it to air dry away from direct sunlight and heat.
Does Sedona Comfort™ use a mold to manufacture their pillows?
No, we do not use molds. Our leading competitor’s manufacturing process encases the pillow, restricting airflow. We discovered that cutting pillows from blocks of foam rather than using a mold enhances the pillow’s ability to breathe as well as its overall feel. Sedona Comfort’s PŪR memory material™ provides optimal airflow for a cool, comfortable night’s rest.
Why does my new Sedona Comfort™ memory foam mattress have a slight odor?
Your memory foam mattress may have a slight odor remaining from the manufacturing process. This odor is will dissipate.
Are Sedona Comfort™ products fire retardant?
All our memory foam mattresses, toppers, cushions, and pillows meet or exceed federal and state fire safety requirements.
Should I replace my traditional pillow?
Traditional pillows in nightly use become populated with fungal spores, allergens, and dust mites. Sleeping on an old pillow can negatively affect your postural alignment and sleep quality. Be sure to replace your current pillow with a Sedona Comfort™ pillow and allow yourself to Sleep Perfect™!
Why can’t I use my Sedona Comfort™ memory foam mattress on my old box spring?
Your memory foam mattress will not work on your old box spring! Sedona Comfort™ mattresses are designed to work on a firm, solid-surface, a non-spring foundation or an adjustable bed base that is structurally capable of supporting the weight of purchaser's Sedona Comfort™ mattress. This warranty and other performance guarantees are based on tests conducted on “sets” that consist of our mattresses and foundations. THEREFORE, IF THE PURCHASER USES INAPPROPRIATE FOUNDATIONS, BOX SPRINGS, OR ADJUSTABLE BED BASES WITH THIS MATTRESS, THE WARRANTY WILL BE VOID, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Why shouldn’t I buy a lower-priced memory foam mattress?
These days there are all sorts of people selling memory foam. Comparing products can be difficult and confusing. Generally, the less-expensive memory foams tend to be lower in density and are not cut to full dimensions. These lower-priced mattresses offer shorter-term warranties and are most often imported from abroad. Importers are a leading contributor to the lower-quality memory foam often found today, along with others. Do not be fooled by cheap imitations! Memory foam is definitely a product where the traditional wisdom applies: “You get what you pay for.” We are here to help you make an educated choice. Do you compress and/or fold the mattress for transportation?
No, we do not compress or fold your mattress for transportation. While simply compressing the mattress does not damage the cellular structure, folding the compressed mattress to place it into a box does. According to an on-line retailer of compressed, boxed memory foam mattresses, "Our mattress lost only 1.25 inches where it was folded and only .25 inches away from the fold." According to them the mattress will form an impression 5 times greater at the fold line. We view this as unacceptable, as our variance is only .75 inches for the 20 year warranty of your new mattress.
